Shinrin Yoku - the Essence of Forest Bathing
Shinrin-Yoku is a Japanese term used to describe the process of experiencing the shinrin or forest as yoku, or a bath.
Since 2004, numerous studies have been conducted in both Japan and elsewhere to record the powerful benefits of being present within the forest environment. The multi-sensory experience of the forest itself is the point, not exercise or hiking.
In this practice, you are guided to attune to the smells, sounds, textures, colors and sensations of what the forest energy surrounding you feels like. Becoming truly immersed in the experience of the forest life-force can be emotional, relaxing, and inspiring.
Combined with breathing or other meditation practices, you will feel yourself shifting into another brainwave state. Your central nervous system becomes soothed while your muscles, organs and cells all harmonize with the vast energy that surrounds you.
Trees, plants, flowers, the sounds of birds or insects, and the variety of scents from earth and leaf, all play a vital role in the experience of deep, primordial connection to the earth and to yourself.
For your retreat, you will be guided into deep states of well being and connection during the Forest Bath led by Robert. Feel the life force flowing through the ancient wisdom within the French Pyrenees. Become rejuvenated and inspired by the shimmering essence emanating from this place to awaken new insight and timeless connection within you.

βThe forest is like our mother, a sacred place, a gift to us humans from the devine. It is a paradise of healing. Mother Nature fills us with wonder and curiosity and invites us in. She works in harmony with us and with our innate capacity for healing. This is the foundation of forest medicine. In the forest, we begin reconnect with nature and journey towards health and happiness. The art of forest bathing is the art of connecting with nature through our senses. All we have to do is to accept the invitation. Mother Nature does the rest.β
